  • HELLO!

    Hi! My name is Renee and I love to laugh. I love Jesus, and adventures, and randomness, and rhyming, and sunshine. I really enjoy sunshine. I also love people, which really makes photography such a wonderful gift! I love to capture you being you, and telling your story through beautiful images. And you can bet we're going to have fun doing it!

    I'm based in Eugene, Oregon, but travel a lot and look forward to taking you with me everywhere I go - AND going everywhere you take me!

    Thanks for stopping by the blog! I look forward to getting to know you. I look forward to sharing important moments with you. And I consider it an honor to do so.

    Can't wait to meet you!
    ~Renee

family :: thomas + kelsey + brenton

i love nashville for so many reasons.  one reason (the biggest, really) is that it is the home of my sister (melissa) + brother in law (mackey) and my two nephews – maverick and solomon!  never fear, if you haven’t met them yet you will have plenty of opportunities to see their precious faces!  anywho, another reason is that mackey’s sister and family live there, too!

i happened to be there right before little brenton turned one, so we jumped at the chance to take some family + 1 year photos!  we went to a great location they scoped out (good job, thomas!) and had beautiful light, a gorgeous sky and a grand old time!  enjoy a look at this precious family!!!

see what i mean about the beautiful sky???

so glad thomas + kelsey were up for snapping a few of just the two of them.  it’s too easy to just focus on the kiddo, but the parents and their love for each other at every stage is super important to capture and treasure forever, too!

thomas, kelsey + brenton, thank you so much for rearranging your schedules and spending a couple of hours with me at the lake!  you guys sure do have a good thing – hold on tight!  see you next time!

Adam - Beautiful shots!

hitched :: kyle + kristen

kyle and kiki.  what a great pair!  i’ve known kiki for years…all the way back to when she was in the youth group at church.  she started checking with me on shooting her wedding awhile back and i finally got to meet her future mr. at her niece’s first birthday.   what a guy!  these two are so in love with each other, and so kind to everyone around them…as you are about to see.  they were so great to work with on their big day, as well as all the time leading up to it.

it’s fun to hear the plans and vision a bride has for her day.  and then get to see how it all comes together as the backdrop for something life-changing.  they got married at atavista farm in brownsville, oregon in april – and it was a gorgeous day!  that’s risky business in oregon, but it worked out just perfectly!

so kyle and kiki, thank you.  thank you for letting me be a part of something so meaningful.  it was such an honor to witness and capture such important moments in your lives.  all the best to you both!!!

Melissa - Once again…well done! Beautiful shots, beautiful wedding, beautiful people! Good job Renee.

newborn :: meet brayden.

there really isn’t anything better than a new baby, is there?

the smell of their skin, soft little hair, perfect tiny fingers, toes and nose, the newness and anticipation of who they will look like and turn out to be.  it’s just the best.  so when my brother in law and his wife had their little man, i was so excited to meet their little miracle before he was even a day old.  and they let me snap some photos to boot!  i’m so grateful – such special moments and i got to be a tiny part of them.

enough talk out of me, here he is!  or at least here he was at christmas.  thought you should meet the sisters, too!

how on earth mandy looks so darn beautiful after just having a baby is beyond me, but indeed she does!  mandy, you are a rockstar!!!

like daddy like son.  brayden is the first boy after two amazing sisters.  let’s just say they were all pretty excited about him joining their family!

meeting the cousins.

brayden, you are one blessed little man.  if there’s one thing your family knows how to do, it’s love.  completely, sincerely, unconditionally.  so soak it all in.  and then share it, because we all know there’s a big world out there that can use a little bit of what you’ve got.

family :: joe + mandy + kiddos » Renascent Photography - [...] a gorgeous day…and since we hadn’t taken any photos of joe + mandy’s fam since brayden was born, we decided it was time. we looked for the nearest hill and climbed our way to the top for a few [...]

Laura Loock - I love everything about these photos! And how presh is this little boy with that hat! Love it :) and you!

engaged :: tim + dama

tim lives in washington.  dama lives in southern california.  i live(d) in oregon.  together we covered the west coast!

when tim + dama asked about doing an engagement session, all three states were an option.  boy am i glad we went with california, even though it was uncharacteristically cloudy!  we met up in old town pasadena and had a grand old time!!!

tim + dama are great people.  they are so fun and full of joy – and if you don’t believe me, just look at their photos!  so much laughter – how can you not just love them?!

dama brought this cute sign so we could get a good image for their save the dates.  i made them cross this street (you can even cross diagonally!) over and over, just for the fun of it.  don’t worry, they enjoyed it!

we stopped at this cute cafe for a few shots because tim + dama have some memories here.  love when we get to shoot places that mean something to people!

isn’t she lovely?

i must admit.  i’m a bit partial to tiptoes.  (my hub is 14 inches taller than me!)

my fave.

tim + dama: thank you for being so darn fun to shoot!  i’m so happy for you two, and so grateful that i got to be part of such an important time in your lives!

Hod Hambrecht, MD - Inspiring! Every couple ought to do this type of photo shoot after getting engaged as they will really treasure it as the years go by. Something like this would make a great pre wedding gift instead of the usual toaster or steak knives.

Corinne - Renee, you’ve done it again! These are wonderful. They really capture the sweetness of the love between Dama and TIm. And, you are ever creative!

jenn slager - Renee, these photos are beautiful. Your eye is amazing when it comes to photography. These photos are timeless…they are so lucky! Nice work.

let’s get this party started!

it’s about time!!!

although i have a gazillion photos that i need to share with you, i want to start this thing off right.  this whole adventure into photography was birthed out of a huge, painful change in my life.  hence the name.  ”to spring again into being or vigor”, that’s what renascent means, and that’s what it meant in my life.

i love photography.  i love that it’s waaaaaay more than just taking pictures.  or having a nice camera.  i love the moments i get to witness and capture forever.  i love the people i get to meet and the life i get to share with those people.  the excitement and joy that comes with having met your true bff in engagement sessions, the pure love and anticipation of a wedding day, the utter bliss of welcoming a new person into the world, the chaotic and memorable years and life that happens as those little people grow up.  i have a long way to go!  but once we stop learning we’re dead, right?  so that makes me excited.  but i’ve also come a long way, and that is thanks to some amazing people!

jesus.  wouldn’t have anything without him.  just nothing at all.  my hope is to love people through photography a little bit like he loves me!
my hub.
  loves me & supports me while i learn and make mistakes and have a hard time saying no and spend all of my time in front of a computer.  simply couldn’t do it without him.
tony & kimberly. got me my first dslr…and kept telling me i was good enough to pursue photog when i really wasn’t.
cassy berry.  i’m so so so so so grateful to have this friend in my life.  she is such a blessing to me, not just with photography, but in life.  she has taught me a ton, and if you haven’t seen her work, you simply have to.  www.cassyberryphotography.com
melis, mom + dad, jamers.  my biggest fans and encouragers.
melode, maggie, jamers, matt.  second shooters for countless shoots and patient models with which to practice.
amy williams.  mastermind behind our wedding invites and my logo.  check her out here!
scott stanton.  can’t even tell you how many bazillion questions he answered in order to get this here blog and my website up and running.  check him out at scottscreative.com!
jesus.  just because thanking him once just doesn’t seem like enough!

all of my clients who took a chance on me!  thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

woohoo!  prepare yourself for some pretty, happy, fun moments – i mean photos – to be added soon!
peace out for now//renee
